Queen Palm Habitat and Range
The Queen palm (Syagrus romanzoffiana) is native to central and eastern South America. It occurs in coastal woodlands, dry forests and near large rivers in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.
The Queen palm is widely distributed throughout South America. It is called the “Pindo” in natural habitat, but it is known as the Queen Palm in cultivation.
This South American native palm is a very common palm in costal areas of Australia.
The exotic looking palm is widely planted in subtropical regions around the world. It is one of the most popular landscape items in Southern California, Central, Western and South Florida and Hawaii.
